Enjoi yourself

Cooking to me is about making a potion. I want to have a general idea, and I want to make magic with it. Numbers, they slow me down.

I keep thinking I'll make a blog post about {insert current item I'm cooking}, but then, I realize that would involve details & things that, to me, take more time than just the moment.

That philosophy is part of my being, and I don't understand why. To me, I would NEVER do most things unless I enjoy them. Sometimes, this is a good thing- ie I really enjoy my job. 95% of the time (yes, I consider myself extremely lucky and blessed for this).  Other times, it's detrimental, because I don't like to work at things very long (unless I'm already good).  Is this common?

I happen to really enjoy running, hiking, yoga, dance, aerobics, catch, and of course hitting a tennis or volleyball- pretty much any workout that feels like a natural release. Hate working out just for a "work-out- I want to be outside.  Yak-tracks over treadmill any day of the week.
