Ah, summer.  Seems distant with this beautiful blanket of snow- yesterday, we cross-country skied & sledded in our yard.  A couple seasons ago, we lived at Many Glacier, sans internet, 10 folks in one house, next to a bustling, historic hotel.

Important, poignant, precious moments happened this summer, and I didn't document all of them. As a woman striving to be in the present, sometimes I'm better when I don't have a device in my hand. Sighing on the trail, when the lighting is just right on her curls as she leans on me, hugging my legs tight, before she moves to comment on the rocks and the boat.  Singing my heart out in weekly Hootenannys with friends surrounding.  Letting life soak in.

We'll be back with the boats in a few short months.  We love it!  With unexpected tragedies and stresses last summer at Many Glacier, the expected shuffling of seasonal life, a commute to a full Grocery store and living with 8 early-twenties boat captains, missing my friends of past summers, I grew.  My role: Mountain Mama, though I know what it's like to live in the Valley as a free young whippersnapper. I'm excited to live it again, do it better, with another baby in tow!  I'll strive to be more nurturing, more thoughtful, more self-assured.
